Early Help

Early help is a first step for families

Together for Children’s Early Help service works closely with schools, health visitors and families in Sunderland to provide the right level of support at the right time for families.

We are here to support you with any concerns about your child or children, your family or home circumstances. It could be around behaviour, problems at school, housing, debt, routines and boundaries or other difficulties.

Our support means families can manage their own lives and find solutions to their problems. Getting help early helps prevent little concerns from becoming big concerns.

Why use Early Help?
Being a parent or carer is one of the most important jobs there is and it is also one of the hardest. Parents and carers are key to giving children a happy, stable childhood. If one person in a family has a problem, it might be a child, young person or adult, then whole family are often affected. If the whole family are supported it’s more likely things will improve.

Relationships Matter 2020 Survey

Everyone’s relationship is different but sometimes, we face similar issues. At Together for Children, we want to make sure that whatever you’re going through in your relationship, the right support is available to you and your family. To help better understand the needs of couples or ex-couples who are parents in Sunderland, we have pulled together a short questionnaire that we hope you will take the time to complete.

If you are in relationship and have children together, or if you have children from a previous relationship, we would love to hear from you. The answers you provide are anonymous and will be used to help shape our future services and make sure we offer the right kind of support at the right time.
