There are currently more than 500 children in care in Sunderland. Could you give a child a loving home?

We are an independent fostering agency that provides foster care for children and young people who, through no fault of their own, cannot live with their parents.

Our foster carers receive ongoing training and support, plus a financial support package. We're open to applications from all walks of life and you don't have to live in Sunderland

What is a foster carer?

Foster carers take someone else's child into their home and look after them until they are able to return to their own family or are ready to move on.

There's no such thing as a typical foster carer - they come from all walks of life and all sorts of backgrounds. We welcome applications from all demographics and from anywhere within travelling distance of Sunderland.

The only thing we ask is that you must have a spare room in your home to accommodate a child.

There are several different types of fostering available with us, including anything from providing a few days to a few years of care. We offer ongoing training and support and are always on hand to help.

Will I get paid?

We have a new foster carer professional fee scheme that recognises and rewards commitment to continuous professional development.

Under the new scheme foster carers could earn up to £34,320 plus allowances to cover the cost of caring for a child per year. This is based on experience and the number of children cared for.

How can I find out more?

We host a drop-in information evening every month that you may attend. There's no need to book, just come along.
