School Transport

Home to school transport (Mainstream)

Provision of Free Travel Permits issued to qualifying children attending mainstream placements.  The Free Travel Permits are obtained from Nexus and allow the child to travel to and from school on public transport (metro/bus/ferry) free of charge, anytime before 7pm.  The Free Travel Permit can only be used on school days.

Home to school transport (SEND)

Provision of transport from Home to School for qualifying children with Special Educational Needs or medical difficulties.

Transport is procured, monitored and managed by the Local Authority to provide a high level of standards and safety for the children transported.

Post 16 transport

Provision of transport from Home to College for qualifying children with Special Educational Needs or medical difficulties.

Transport is procured, monitored and managed by the Local Authority to provide a high level of standards and safety for the children transported.
