Free Drop-In Event for Families Celebrates National Children’s Day

National Children's Day

Together for Children is hosting a free drop-in event at the Monument Centre in Penshaw on Tuesday 14 May.

A range of fun-packed activities will be available including Time for Rhyme, Messy Play and Book Start Corner to spark creativity and young minds.

There will be activities linked to children’s health and wellness including Jittabugs from 1:30 to 4:30, face-painting 12:30 to 3:30 and animal handling 2 to 3pm.

Families of all ages are invited to drop-in from 12noon to 5pm.

Supported by the National Lottery, National Children's Day UK is all about the importance of a healthy childhood to help youngsters grow into happy, healthy

adults.

Children's Day was established in 1954 by the UN General Assembly to be a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children. Many other countries celebrate the day on the 20th of November, the United Nations nominated day, but in the UK we celebrate it at the beginning of the summer.

NCDUK provides a platform for people to talk and to network with others.
