School Transport

This page contains information about home to school transport for mainstream placements, children with special educational needs and disabilities, and post 16.

Home to school transport (mainstream)

Free Travel Permits are issued to qualifying children attending mainstream placements. The Permits can be obtained from Nexus and allow your child to travel to and from school on local public transport (metro/bus/ferry) free of charge, anytime before 7pm. The Permit can only be used on school days.

Home to school transport (SEND)

Provision of transport from home to school can be provided for qualifying children with special educational needs or disabilities. Transport is procured, monitored and managed by the Local Authority to provide a high level of standard and safety for the children transported.

Post-16 transport

Provision of transport from home to college can be provided for qualifying children with special educational needs or disabilities. Transport is procured, monitored and managed by the Local Authority to provide a high level of standard and safety for the children transported.
