Mind of My Own
Mind of My Own is an online tool commissioned by Together for Children to ensure the voices of children and young people in Sunderland are heard and listed to. The Mind of My Own app gives children and young people an instant and convenient way to express their thoughts, feelings, views and wishes, and gives social workers an easy way to evidence them.
Children and young people have two options:
- Young people can have their own accounts (an email address and date of birth is required). To create an account, young people should download the Mind of My Own app to their mobile phone or tablet via the app store and or should visit the Mind of My own website to set up an account online. Until an account has been set up and they have been trained on Mind of My Own, young people should use their worker's account.
- Where a child or young person can't have their own account (too young, no email address or safeguarding reasons) then their worker should create an account and support the child or young person to complete and submit statements.
To set up a Worker Account for Mind Of My Own click here and follow the below instructions:
- Click 'Sign Up'
- Fill in 'Organisation', 'First Name', 'Last Name' and 'Email' and submit
- Your account will be reviewed and approved by Mind of My Own support staff
- You will receive an email to set up a password
- When you sign in, there will be a 'Test' profile for you to explore, which gives you the opportunity to see which scenarios might support your role best.
If you are confident offering this to a young person before their session, please do so. You would create a profile for them using their FULL name and DOB. Young people will also need to put Sunderland when it asks where they live, even if they live out of area. This is so their account still connects to our portal.
All statements children and young people create will be sent to your email address and you must click the link to clear this from the dashboard.
A form with the statement attached will also be created by Service Portal admin to complete with your follow up on Liquidlogic.
