Lumi Nova therapeutic game

A therapeutic mobile game to help 7-12 year olds learn to self-manage their fears and worries!

Now available to children and families across Sunderland, Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage provides a fun, safe and engaging way for children and young people to tackle their worries head on so they can build resilience, gain confidence and thrive.          

A NICE (National institute for Health & Care Excellence) recommended first line treatment for children aged 7-12 years old with mild-moderate anxiety, Lumi Nova facilities exposure therapy through a safe and secure mobile game (CE marked, Class 1 medical device, registered with the MHRA). Used by children with mild to moderate needs across the country, where they may not meet thresholds for CAMHS, are on the waiting list, or accessing it alongside other support.

Schools, GPs, and other professionals working with children and their families will be able to signpost them to access Lumi Nova directly via www.luminova.app/sunderland while parents and guardians are also able to self-refer directly for instant access to therapeutic support.

For parents, carers and professionals:

Lumi Nova is for children aged 7-12 years who:

●        May lack confidence to try new things

●        Worry about getting things wrong

●        Seem unable to face simple everyday challenges

●        Find it hard to concentrate

●        Have problems with sleeping or eating

●        Have angry outbursts

●        Have negative thoughts about what's going to happen

●        Tend to avoid everyday activities such as going to school, seeing friends, being in crowded places

●        Become irritable, tearful or clingy

It is not for children:

●        In crisis or with complex needs

●        Who have disabilities preventing them from using mobile devices
